Why Golf Bags Matter
By Kerry Graylor
Most golfers are willing to spend a large chunk of change on their clubs but often pinch pennies when it comes to golf bags. This makes no sense at all. The golf bag is not generally expensive and it is worth going for one at the higher end of the market. It will protect your investment in your clubs as well as giving you great convenience on the course that can benefit your game. Do not underrate the importance of the golf bag as many golfers do, and do not rush out to buy the first one that you see.
Most every golfer in the world loves to try out a new course and vacation plans are often made with one eye on the little flag symbols on the map. You can take a golf vacation in most parts of the world and even if your spouse does not play, you can easily find places that will allow you one or two good games while she does some sightseeing or shopping. (Of course you may be a lady golfer whose husband does not play - but this is a rare situation and I hope you will forgive me using the feminine pronoun.)
When you travel, you will almost certainly want to take your own clubs with you. You could probably hire a set at your destination but you will always play best with your own clubs even if it means paying extra for their transport and insurance. If you are traveling by plane, train or even your own car with a lot of other luggage you will immediately see the value of having a strong and sturdy golf case that will protect your clubs against damage from other luggage items on the trip.
At home on your local golf course, a good golf club bag will help your concentration and focus by keeping all of your clubs well organized so that you can find exactly the one that you need. They will also help you to store all of the other items and accessories that you carry for a round of golf. A good bag will have many pockets and sections for storage of everything that you need: balls, tees, water bottles, a notebook, and any other items that you use on the course.
When you are looking for a new golf bag, do not go for the cheapest but look for something that will store all of the items that you need, and protect your clubs well. Remember that even high quality golf bags are inexpensive compared to the value of the clubs that they carry.
