The Harley Trike - Back on The Road Again
By
Hey, ex-biker - did you ever think of owning a Harley trike?
When the mid-life crisis hits (and it's hitting later and later these days) it's only natural for anybody who was once a motorbiker to start looking longingly after those bikes that zip around you in traffic and throw dust up at your windscreen on the interstate.
That freedom to just head off anywhere in the wind and the rain and the sun, didn't it used to feel great? Now the kids are grown and gone, why shouldn't you experience that again? Do you really need two stationwagons any more? Couldn't you trade one in for something a little more adventurous? Why not get back onto two wheels?
It's a wonderful dream, and you probably envy the guys who go ahead and do it, but maybe the lady says no, maybe you're a little large these days to be sure of holding your balance around the corners, maybe it seems like there are a lot of reasons for not making your dream come true.
But hey - have you thought about going for three wheels? Have you thought of a Harley Davidson trike?
A lot of baby boomers return to motorbiking and there's no doubt about it, Harleys suit the larger figure and the greyer beard - and Harley trikes especially.
Owning a Harley is an instant passport to friendship with hundreds of thousands of other Harley owners - male and female - around the world. Even if you're on your own, you'll never be stuck for vacation ideas. Your kids may be suggesting you take a Caribbean cruise, but if that's just not your style, instead you could be cracking open a beer with the members of your local Harley Owners Group.
All you have to do is head for one of the hundreds of motorcycle rallies that take place around the country from spring thru fall.
The special appeal of a trike has to be the variety and originality that you can come up with. From the classic Servi-Car to a brand new kit, there's a lot to choose from, and a lot to do with it when you get it. Remember, a motorcycle is not like a car - you don't just put it away in the garage when you come home and forget about it. It needs cleaning and polishing, engine maintenance, in fact it gives you a hundred reasons for getting out of the house, away from all those jobs you didn't want to do and onto the road.
Just think about it for a couple minutes, and pretty soon you could be adding a whole new dimension to your life with a Harley trike.
