Golf Accessories -- 10 Perfect Gifts For Golfers

By Kerry Graylor

There is an insane number of different golf accessories that you can buy for the golfer in your life, which means that even the golfer who thinks he (or she) has everything, almost certainly doesn't. So surfing the internet armed with a list of golf accessories is a surefire way to find a gift that will be welcomed with joy.

A keen golfer will normally have most of the obvious things like golf clubs, golf shoes, a golf club bag, balls, tees, etc. If you are looking for a cheap gift, then a few extra balls and tees will always be useful. They are constantly buying more clubs too but it is best not to buy golf clubs for your golfer unless you are a real expert, because there is a 99% chance you will buy the wrong one. Better to concentrate on something from the following list.

  1. Umbrella. Inspect his golf umbrella secretly and you will probably find it has at least one broken spine, in which case you can get him a new one. If it looks exactly like the old one, that is ideal.
  2. Gloves. If he is not already using specialized golf gloves, or if they are worn out. It will probably take a month or so before he can bear to stop wearing the old ones, but give him time and your gift will be much appreciated.
  3. Pinseeker, aka rangefinder or scope. This is a gadget that tells him how far away the hole is, so he knows which club to use and how hard to hit the ball. Useful.
  4. Digital scorekeeper. A calculator that will keep the scores of up to 4 players. Another useful gadget for match days.
  5. Practice mats. These include indoor putting mats (good if you have the space) and outdoor chip and drive mats (excellent for protecting your lawn).
  6. Driving net. For use in the backyard, to drive balls into. A good companion for the chip and drive mat.
  7. Ball shagger. Dispenses golf balls for practice sessions.
  8. Wrist and elbow training aids. There are various wristbands and strength developers on the market that claim to help develop a stronger swing.
  9. Books. Go for autobiographies of famous players, rather than the 'improve your swing' type of book which he may find insulting.
  10. DVDs. Again don't get 'improve your game' DVDs unless he has asked for one. Instead choose recordings of classic matches like the Open featuring star players of the past at their peak. Perfect for older golfers who will remember the great players of the 1970s and 1980s.

Where To Buy
While you can get many of these items from your local golf club store, they will be higher priced there and the range will seem old and stale to your golfer who certainly visits regularly. You will probably prefer to order online from a web site selling golf accessories. Here you will find a wider range of golf accessories to surprise him with!
