Avoid Cancer Using Prostate Massage Technique & Exercise
By Anonymous
Using a prostate massage technique is probably the simplest and least invasive of prevention methods available to men who may be concerned with this health issue. Lying behind the pubic bone in the center of the pelvis, just above the perineum is the prostate gland. Most often it is spoken about only in connection with infection, enlargement or cancer and many think that if a man lives long enough he will eventually develop a prostate problem.
It is true that one in almost every 10 men in the United States is diagnosed with prostate cancer and that the men affected are almost always over the age of 50. For these reasons alone regular screening has allowed for early detection and treatment seeing almost all of these men recover to live normal healthy lives. So can I do anything else to improve Prostate Health?
Early detection of a possible problem by having regular examinations and screening should be your primary objective. The use of prostate massage techniques and exercise are used by health-care professionals as a means to prevention, and as such are worthy of your consideration.
There are 2 ways to massage your prostate: internally or externally. Internally is the most direct method, just as a doctor would examine your prostate - for comfort make sure that your nails are short and your finger is clean and well lubricated. Your prostate will feel something the size of a walnut just inside your rectum. Although less direct, you may find you are more comfortable with the external method. To externally massage your prostate you need to locate a spot at your perineum just in front of your anus.
With both techniques you should begin by pressing and making small circles in one direction and then again in the opposite direction. This kind of massage is good for general prostate health and is also administered by doctors when a patient has a prostate infection.
In addition to massage you can also exercise to keep your prostate healthy.
By squeezing the pc muscles which surround the prostate you improve the condition
and blood flow to the area. Remember that as with any exercise, you may experience
soreness if you practise too much - so start slowly!
- Breathe out completely while you gently contract your anus and perineum
- Breathe in deeply and as you breathe out this time contract the pc muscle around your prostate. If you picture your prostate just above your perineum as you do this it will be a more effective contraction. These are the same muscles that you would use to stop urination.
- Breathe in and relax.
- Repeat these steps, try and do around 5 to begin with, building up to 15
over time.
Finally - remember that combining prostate massage technique with exercise should be used only as an aid to promote prostate health - there is no substitute for regular screening and check ups. So make sure you see your doctor regularly and bring anything out of the ordinary to his/her attention.
